Albert Holman Lodge #179 was chartered by the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Missouri in July 1981 and was named after District Deputy Grand Master Albert Holman of the 1st Masonic District who served as D.D.G.M. For many years. P.M. Holman was a man of fortitude, tenacity, sincerity, and integrity until his death on May 13, 1980.
The charter members of Albert Holman Lodge #179 were: P.M. Arthur Ransom (deceased), P.M. Paul Gulley (deceased), P.M. John Morgan (life member), P.M. Squire Hunter (deceased), P.M. Karl J. Reid (served two years as the 1st Worshipful Master), Irvin Simon, Willie Smith and Ivory Claxton.
In more than two decades of service, Albert Holman Lodge #179 has proven its dedication to fostering civic, economic, and educational development programs throughout the St. Louis, MO area and has admirably enhanced the lives of the citizens who reside in the area by encouraging citizen participation in civic, charitable, and humanitarian activities.
